A sacred destination positioned in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir , Purmandal, which is also known as “CHHOTA KASHI” and serves as preeminent site for Learning and studying ancient history and scriptures. The place is located on the banks of river “Devika” which flows from South to North direction and was an ancient centre of Trade and Learning.
It is proud moment for GDC Purmandal, since it is in its second academic session, with great humility and humbleness, it is significant to mention that the efforts of Higher Education Department Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir and worthy Principal Secretary, Mr. Rohit Kansal who is constantly acting as a guiding force and his valuable advice which truly moulded many lives and also his insightfulness and visionary skills which will take the institution to New heights of Excellence. With minimum infrastructure and maximum resources, the college is a true epitome of "The Ocean In a Pot".
The Head of the Institution along with her dynamic team could resolve the burning transportation problem and managed to streamline the conveyance facility not only for the students of the college but also for the locals as the students of the college especially girls students and the labour class of the area used to wait for hours together to reach their destination. The college is having the digital ICT facility which caters to the needs of the students as well as the staff. The computer lab is well equipped with all the gadgets including computers and interactive panels. The library of the college is central hub of knowledge, and it is well furnished to support and facilitate teaching and learning. It is well equipped with latest books, magazines and Newspapers. In addition to the reference books, the library provides a good amount of leisure reading and books for soft skill development.

The college plays a pivotal role in nurturing future talents in sports as well as other activities. The students of GDC Purmandal posses natural talent in different sports to mention few Volleyball, Martial Arts, Wrestling, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Wushu, Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis, Cricket and Basketball. As the college is housed in Panchayat Ghar with minimal sports facility but the college administration after putting in lot of efforts could accomplished the playing ground facility for the students after clearing the just opposite to the college by using JCB which leveled the area and could make available playing ground for students.
