Three Days Special NSS Camp To Commemorate Kargil Diwas Concludes At GDC Purmandal

NSS Unit and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad J&K Prant and Eco-Club of the college organized a three days special NSS Camp to commemorate Kargil Diwas 2023. The camp was inaugurated by the Principal of the college Prof. [Dr.] Raj Shree Dhar in presence of Ms. Sapna Sapolia, Sarpanch , Katwalta on 24-07-2023. Camp started with the formal welcome of chief guest and other dignitaries from Bharat Vikas Parishad, Jammu by Principal. On the first day of the camp a documentary screening session on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and Cleanliness Drive was conducted. The theme of the documentary was Drugs “The End of Life”. At the end pledge taking ceremony was also held in which pledge was administered to both students and other dignitaries present that they shall not indulge in usage of Drugs and Psychotropic substances. On the second day of special camp, a medical camp was organized under the banner of anemia Mukt Bharat. a team of doctors arranged by Bharat Vikas Parishad and Medical tests for anemia specially for girl students were conducted. Around 90 girl students and local females participated in the said tests. On the last day of the camp i.e, 26th july, 2023 a mega plantation drive was conducted in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad in which President BVP Sh. B.B Sharma, Ms. Sapna Sapolia, Sarpanch Katwalta, Principal Dr. Raj Shree Dhar along with other dignitaries and large number of students planted hundered saplings of local indigenous, medicinal and ornamental plants. The aim of the plantation drive is to make GDC Purmandal a Green Spot in J&K. Two Vatikas of 50 each saplings was created by planting these saplings. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Raj Shree Dhar motivated the NSS volunteers to create awareness among local people about Go Green Initiative of the Institute. B.B Sharma stressed upon the need to plant more and more trees to conserve environment for future generations. On the occasion NSS volunteers took a pledge to plant 1000 saplings in and around Katwalta in next two years.
