GDC Purmandal Organizes Survey On Drugs In Panchayat Katwalta, Mandal

NCORD coordinator in collaboration with NSS Unit of the college conducted survey on drugs with the help of Ms. Sapna Sapolia, Sarpanch Katwalta, Panch and Panchayat Secretary. The survey was conducted in 10 houses out of which 8 were found out to be the victims of drugs and Alcohol. The symptoms found in the victims were shakiness, dizziness, blood shot eyes, nausea, trembling voice and Imbalanced body posture. The families of victims told that victims often shows symptoms of mental illness that results in violence in families and crime in society. In survey one victim was found out to be the Cannabis addict. The motive of the survey was to create awareness about drugs and its ill effects among the youth of the society. The volunteers have gone door to door and briefed people about the menace of the drugs. The people of the village were apprised not to hide but to disseminate the information about the drug addicts. Under the able guidance of Worthy Principal Prof. [Dr.] Raj Shree Dhar, the Nodal officer of NMBA Prof. Lakshmi Sohan conducted the survey with the help of Prof. Mohammad Rafi [NSS PO], Prof. Shahima Akhter [RRC] and Dr. Deepika Mehra [HOD Dogri]. Principal of the college Prof. [Dr.] Raj Shree Dhar appreciated the sincere efforts of NSS volunteers and discussed with them that this effort by them will help in identifying the drug addicts.
