- Academic session:
- Academic session starts form 15th july and concludes in may every year.
- Admission process:
- Admission is open to state subjects and children of central Govt. Employee, Army and Para Military personal posted in J&K State.
- The admission schedule is announced every year containing detailed information and is published in the local news paper much earlier than the start of admission.
- On receipt of application, selection lists shall be drawn on the basis of merit (% of the marks obtained in the class 12th.
- Students belonging to the reserved cateogaries as listed in SRO 294 dated 21-10-2005 shall get additional weightage of 5% marks.
- Admission rules:
- The canditates who have passed Higher secondary part-II(12th class)examinations in all the subjects from a recognized Board of School Education by the Jammu University are eligible to apply for admission in B.A/B.Sc. Part-1.
- The candidates have to apply for Part-I admission on a prescribed Performa as per notification of the college/university.
- A student who is admitted to the college and completes the minimum required attendance but either fils or does not appear in the ensuing university examination, will not be consider for admission i8n the same class again.
- A student with a break in academic career will not be considered for admission in the college.
- If a student, after being admitted, remains continuously absent for 15 days, he/she shall be removed form the college rolls and shall not be readmitted to the same class during the same year. The year so wasted shall be counted as a year of break and dealt with under appropriate clauses if he/she presents himself/herself for readmission during the next year.
- Admission to a particular subject or combination of subject is purely subject to the availability of seats.
- The following documents will have to produced by each selected candidates alongwith the duly filled in form:
- Marks certificate of 12th class in original alongwith 2 photo copies.
- Provisional Certificate in original from head of the institution last attended. The private candidates are required to produce provosional certificate issued by the concerned Board of School Education.
- Character certificate in oroginal from the head of the institution last attended . The male private candidates are required to produce character certificate are required issued by the concerned S.H.O./Megistrate.
- Matriculation certificate or data of birth certificate in original alongwith a photocopy . Three passport size photographs.
- The candidates who have passed their 12th class form School Boards other than j&k Board are required to produce an affidavit.
- The candidates who have passed their 12th class form School Boards other than j&k Board are required to fill in the eligibility certificate avaliable with the admission committee.
- Permanent resident certificate of j&k.
- Migration certificate and transfer certificate in original in case of candidates who have passed 12th class examination from other than j&k Board.
- The candidate elonging to reserve categories are required to produce category certificate issued by the concerned certificate issued by Tehsildar.
- Candidate seeking admission after a gap of one year is required to produce an affidavit.
- The wards of non permanant residents of they process the minimum prescribed qualification, Subject to the production certificate of posting issued by the compatent authority.
- The candidates having a gap of two years in studies are not eligible for admission.
- Late fees shall be charged as presribed by the university of jammu for available of seats, if any.
- The candidate desirous of changing streams from Science to Commerce and Arts to Commerce must have assured at least 45 percent marks in 12th class examination.
- The candidate belonging to reserve categories as per S.R.O.--126 will be given additional 5% marks of the maximum total of +2 Examination for determing their merit for selection /admission in part-1 class within the same stream.
- Admission for part-2 & part-3 class shall start from the 3rd day of the decalaration of results and shall last for 7 days without late fee.
- Reappear cases in one subject in B.A./B.Sc/B.Com. in the next class.
