GDC Purmandal Purmandal in collaboration with Patanjali Yog Peeth (Jammu) organized awareness program cum workshop on benefits of yoga in stress management. Worthy Principal of the college, Prof. Seema Mir formally welcomed the esteemed guests of the event. Prof. Uma Sharma in her address said that attitude of gratitude breaks the stress. Deepak Sharma demonstrated various Yoga Asanas like Taad Asana, Vriksh Asana, Shirshasana etc. Respected Principal of the college in her address stressed upon the need for such kinds of workshops in colleges and especially at a place like Govt. Degree College, Purmandal wherein students come from different background and far flung areas to gain knowledge and Education. Therefore, this training session was a must for the students of the college who remain involved in various other curricular and Co-curricular activities to match up with fast paced and changing scenario of Higher Education. She explained and shared her personal experience of practising Yoga since earlier like many other people she was also having inhibitions about Yoga. As she said that performing Yoga in a daily routine improves and elevates the mood of an individual and brings lot of vibrancy in one’s personality. Worthy Principal along with staff members also performed different Yoga Asanas. At the end of the workshop, the students were so vibrant and elated that all their negative toxins were removed from their mind and heart and they felt de-stressed, rejuvenated and motivated The whole programme was conducted by the organizing team of the college namely Prof. Mohammad Rafi (NSS PO) and Prof. Deepika Mehra (HOD Dogri). At the end Prof. Nirlape Kour (IQAC Convener) presented the vote of thanks and Prof. Shahima Akhter (HOD EVS) Coordinated the whole programme.
