GDC, Purmandal organised intra college Quiz Competition on the theme Know Your Tiranga

In run with “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to celebrate the 75^th year of Independence under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, GDC Purmandal organized an intra college Quiz competition on the theme “Know Your Tiranga” on 12^th of August, 2022 in which three teams participated which were given the names of three vibrant colours of the pride of the Nation “Tiranga”. Team A/Saffron, Team B/ white and Team C/Green. The Quiz programme was conducted in three rounds. First general round consisted of one minute speech on National flag, Second Pass on round and third Rapid fire round in which overall 50 questions were asked by the Quiz master of the programme Prof. Nirlape Kour (HOD Pol. Science and Dean Students’ Welfare). In each round all the teams gave a tough fight to each other in the competition. Team A/Saffron stood first and there was a tie between Team B/white and Team C/Green. In order to break this tie worthy Principal of the college along with the faculty of the college from Political Science Prof. Mohammad Rafi asked few questions. The purpose of organizing such an event was to test the learner’s knowledge about their National Flag and to acquaint them with the history of freedom struggle and sacrifices made by the freedom fighters of the Nation. The students of the college exhibit their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions in all the rounds and there was neck to neck competition amongst the participants. The chief guest on the occasion was Worthy Principal of the college, Prof. Seema Mir. In her address she welcomed all the participating teams and wished them luck with a belief that all teams would give tough competition to each other and said that it is a unique way of making the students aware about essence of being free. The judges of the said event were Prof. Shahima Akhter (HOD EVS) and Prof. Deepika Mehra (HOD Dogri). Ms. Princy Sharma (Lecturer, Education) was on score board and Mr. Rakesh Kumar (Lecturer, Urdu) was time keeper. The whole event was successfully organized by organizing team also the students of the college. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Minoo firdos (PTI of the college).
