GDC Purmandal celebrates 77th Independence Day

NSS Unit in collaboration with Cultural Committee of the college celebrated 77th Independence Day on 15th of August, 2023 with this year’s theme “Nation First, Always First” under ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign of GOI. This year’s Independence day celebrations marked the culmination of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” celebrations which were launched by the Honorable PM Sh. Narendra Modi Ji from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on March 12, 2021 and will definitely usher the country into ‘Amrit Kaal’ with renewed vigour to realize Shri Modi’s Dream of making India a developed country by 2047. The day started with hoisting of National Flag by Prinicpal of the college Prof. [Dr.] Raj Shree Dhar in presence of Chief guest S.K. Pandita, Joint Director, Planning and Guest of Honor Ms. Sapna Sapolia, Sarpanch, Katwalta. Paying tribute to the freedom fighters Prof. [Dr.] Raj Shree Dhar mentioned that it is a remarkable day as on this day we remember and respect all our freedom fighters who fought for India’s Freedom. She also highlighted the week long series of activities conducted under ‘MMMD’ campaign from 9th to 15th of August, 2023 like Panch Pran Pledge, Vasudha Vandan, Dedication of Shilaphalakam, Har Ghar Tiranga, Veeron Ka Vandan etc. On this occasion chief guest S.K. Pandita and Sarpanch Katwalta Ms. Sapna Sapolia also shared their views and encouraged the students to work for the progress and development of the country with zeal and enthusiasm. Students of the college ignited the patriotic fervour by presenting an impressive cultural bonanza which included group song, group dance and Patriotic speeches. The whole programme was organized under the patronage of Principal of the college and coordinated by Prof. Mohammad Rafi [NSS PO], Dr. Deepika Mehra [convener Cultural Committee]. Prof. Shahima Akhter and Prof. Lakshmi Sohan were the co-coordinators of the college.
