GDC Observes 75th Martyrs’ Day NSS Unit of GDC Purmandal joined Nation in paying homage to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi Ji on his 75th Death Anniversary today on 30th of January, 2023. The day is also observed as Martyrs’ Day. GandhiJi was assassinated on this day in 1948. Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Raj Shree Dhar offered floral tributes. While speaking on the occasion she urged students to follow and popularise Gandhiji’s Noble ideals to serve humanity. She further called upon student volunteers to come together to make India Clean, Healthy and Self-reliant and also help in freeing our great Country from illiteracy, poverty & other social evils. Two minutes silence was also observed at 11:00 am by staff (Teaching & Non-Teaching) and students of all the odd semesters in memory of the great soul. The whole programme was conducted under the guidance and leadership of Worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.) Raj Shree Dhar and coordinated by NSS PO Prof. Mohammad Rafi. Other members of the organizing team included Prof. Lakshmi Sohan (HOD English), Prof. Shahima Akhter (Convener NSS Committee) and Prof. (Dr.) Deepika Mehra (HOD Dogri).
